Why each Pro feature is gated

The guiding split: Starter is everything you need to run a subscription business. Gating any of that would make the app look broken next to cheaper competitors. Pro is everything that makes you more money or makes you harder to leave — features that pay for themselves.

FeatureWhy it’s Pro
Curated boxes / Build-a-Box / Mix & MatchThe most complex, highest-value program types — premium features on a premium tier.
Failed-payment recoveryDirectly recovers revenue — one saved subscription typically covers the price difference between tiers.
Cancellation save flowPrevents churn outright, so it pays for itself.
Advanced analytics / Risk CenterDecision tooling that matters most once you have volume to act on.
CSV migrationThe onramp for merchants switching from a competitor — already-committed migrators are the audience least likely to need it free.
Developer API + outbound webhooksOne entitlement covers both halves — the API is what you ask, webhooks are what you’re told — because a merchant with one and not the other has half an integration. It’s bought by merchants with an ERP, a warehouse, a headless storefront or a data team, which is exactly the profile that has outgrown Starter.

Subscriber cap on Starter

The 100-subscriber Starter cap is soft — renewals never stop running and no subscriber is ever blocked. It’s simply the point where upgrading to Pro starts paying for itself.

Starter includes up to 100 active subscribers. This is a soft cap — you’ll see an in-app nudge starting around 80% of the limit, and a clearer notice once you’re at or over it, but renewals never stop running and no subscriber is ever blocked because of it. It’s simply the natural point at which upgrading to Pro starts paying for itself.

Free-store accommodations

Development stores run Curobi free, with no plan required, so you can fully build and test your subscription setup before launch.
